Eamonn Martin

Eamonn Martin ( born October 9, 1958 in Basildon ) is an English former long distance runner.

He was, inter alia, twice in cross country (1984 and 1992 ), three times in the 5000 -meter (1988, 1990 and 1991 ) and twice in the 10,000 -meter run (1989 and 1992 ) English champion. Over the last distance he put on in Oslo with 27:23.06 a British record, which for ten years had stock.

In 1993 he moved to the full marathon and won so far as the last male native London Marathon with his personal best of 2:10:50. Two years later he won the Chicago Marathon

Eamonn Martin now works as a test engineer, is married and has three children.
