Earl Baldwin of Bewdley

Earl Baldwin of Bewdley is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is supported by the family Baldwin.

Ancestral home of the family is Manor Farm House in Wolvercote, Oxfordshire.

Award

The title was created in 1937 for the famous Conservative politician Stanley Baldwin. This had been three times, namely 1923-1924, 1924-1929 and 1935-1937, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom; besides, he had occupied several ministerial posts in other conservative governments.

Subordinate title

Simultaneously with the earldom to the first Earl the title of Viscount Corvedale, of Corvedale was in the County of Salop, awarded. This is run as a subordinate title and at the same time as a courtesy title of the eldest son and heir title.
