Earl Kitchener

Earl Kitchener of Khartoum and of Broome in the County of Kent, is a British hereditary title of nobility ( Peerage of the United Kingdom), which was in 1914 awarded to the Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener. This was in 1898 Baron Kitchener of Khartoum ( and of Aspall in the County of Suffolk ) and since 1902 Viscount Kitchener of Khartoum ( and of the Vaal in the Colony of the Transvaal and of Aspall in the County of Suffolk ).

The subsidiary titles that were awarded along with the earldom ( Earldom ), are Viscount Broome ( of Broome in the County of Kent ) and Baron Denton ( Denton of in the County of Kent ).

The Barony Kitchener of Khartoum was awarded the inheritance of the male heir Herbert Kitchener. Since he had no children, the title became extinct. The remaining titles were awarded with a special entitlement, so they went with the death of the 1st Earl in 1916 on his brother. This repeated itself in 2012 as the niece of 3rd Earl Kitchener of Khartoum, Emma Joyce, wife of the film actor Julian Alexander Baron Fellowes of West Stafford, 2012 has been charged by the Queen Elizabeth II to the rank and position of a daughter of the honoree.
