Earl W. Wallace

Earl W. Wallace is an American author and screenwriter, who won the Oscar for best original screenplay for Witness (1985 ) by Peter Weir at the Oscar ceremony in 1986.

Biography

Wallace began in the mid 1970s as a screenwriter and was especially as a writer for television series such as Gunsmoke ( 1974-1975 ), and Bronk (1976 ) worked. For the script to mini TV series by the West Was (1979 ) he won jointly with Calvin Clements Sr. and John Mantley the track Award from the Western Writers of America for the best television script.

For the screenplay for The Witness (1985 ) by Peter Weir he got together with William Kelley and Pamela Wallace in 1986 both the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Edgar Allan Poe Award and the Prize of the Writers Guild of America (WGA Award) for the best movie screenplay. In addition, he was nominated William Kelley also for the BAFTA Award ( Best Original Screenplay ) and the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay.

Later he was again mainly worked as a screenwriter for television productions such as in the films Walls Could Talk (1996 ) by Cher and Nancy Savoca and help, I have a family! ( 1997) by Ted Kotcheff and the television series Firestorm and Ashes (1988 to 1989), the continuation of the series The Winds of War.
