The Early County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Blakely.

Geography

The County is located in southwest Georgia, on the west by Alabama and is in the south about 40 km from the northern border of Florida removed. History

Early County was formed on December 15, 1818 as the 41 County of Georgia from the former country of the Creek Indians as an original county. It was named for Peter Early, a Governor of Georgia, Congress Member and Chairman of the Supreme Court.

These counties were formed from the territory of the Early County in the following period: Calhoun County, Clay County, Decatur County, Dougherty County, Grady County, Miller County, Mitchell County and Seminole County.
