Earth Observing System

The Earth Observing System (English for Earth Observation System ), short- EOS, is a research program of NASA, which includes a number of artificial satellites with scientific instruments in Earth orbit. This observation satellites enable long-term exploration of the land surface, biosphere, atmosphere and oceans. The program was launched in 1997 and is part of NASA's Earth Science Enterprise project.
