East Dorset

East Dorset is a District in the county of Dorset in England. Council is based in Wimborne Minster; significant sights are Alder Holt, Cole Hill, Corfe Mullen, Ferndown, Sturminster Marshall, Verwood, West Moors and West Parley.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Urban District Wimbourne Minster, the Rural District Wimbourne and Cranbourne and part of the Rural District Ringwood and Fordingbridge.
