East Lindsey

East Lindsey is a District in the county of Lincolnshire in England. With an area of 1760 km ², it is the fifth largest in England. Administrative center is the village of Manby. Other important towns are Alford, Donington on Bain, Horncastle, Louth, Mablethorpe, Skegness and Woodhall Spa.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Municipal Borough of Louth, the Urban Districts Alford, Horncastle, Mablethorpe and Sutton, Skegness and Woodhall and the Rural Districts Horncastle, Louth and Spilsby. This previously belonged all to Lindsey, one of the existing 1889 to 1974 the administrative county.
