East of Eden (Band)

East of Eden was a rock band formed in 1967 by Dave Arbus (violin, saxophone, flute, trumpet, vocals) and Ron Caines (saxophone, piano ) in Bristol (England) was founded. Other members of the first cast members were Geoff Nicholson ( guitar, vocals) and Geoff Britton (drums), who later played with Paul McCartney's Wings. East of Eden was one of the first bands that began the violin in rock music as bearing instruments.

1971 came the song Jig -A- Jig, which they had recorded two years earlier, unexpectedly up to seventh place in the British charts. In the same year the violinist Dave Arbus was to listen to the song Baba O'Riley by The Who.

After many line-up changes, the band broke up in 1978. At a reunion of the original members came in 1997.
