East Sparta is a village in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 806 at the census in 2000. Sparta East is part of the Canton - Massillon metropolitan area
History
The Pike Township, from East Sparta Sparta or emerged later, was founded on 16 March 1815. The township was built on a part of the Canton townships. Two years later, the Bethlehem Township was separated from Pike Township. Even in 1815 handed the surveyor Amos Janney a plan establishing a church, which he called after the ancient Greek city of Sparta.
Facilities
In East Sparta there is a school, the East Sparta Elementary School, as well as two churches, the East Sparta Christian Church and the East Sparta United Methodist Church.
