The Easter Road is the football stadium of Hibernian in the Leith district of Edinburgh. The football stadium currently holds 20,250 spectators. The Hibernian fans call their venue affectionately known as " The Leith San Siro ".

History

After Sir Tom Farmer in 1991 the fortunes took over the venue for major changes at two new grandstands was subjected to the Famous Five (North ) Stand and the South Stand (formerly Dunbar End), which were built in 1995 behind each goal. The West Stand is the largest grandstand and is similar to the North Stand as the South Stand It was built in 2001. The attendance record stands at 65 860, situated at January 2, 1950 at the Hibs game against Heart of Midlothian.

2005 Sir Elton John played the first music concert ever in the Easter Road.

In August 2010, the newly built East Stand was opened. Thus the total capacity increased to 20,250 places.

Games of the Scottish national football team in the Easter Road

Since 1998, found in Easter Road Stadium four matches of the national football team of men instead. At a preseason game at the 2006 FIFA World Cup South Korea and Ghana met each other. Also the Scottish Under-21 national team carries games from the stadium.
