Eastern Isles

The Eastern Isles are an uninhabited group of islands in the east of the Isles of Scilly in Cornwall. The 12 uninhabited rocky islands lie south of St. Martins and northwest of St. Marys. Bronze Age grave chambers and ruins from the Roman- British period point to an early settlement. The resulting carbon in Eastern Isles are part of the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust and protected since 1971 by the Site of Special Scientific Interest ( SSSI ) due to the locally very rare seabird colonies and plant species.

Flora and Fauna

At dominated by grassland, heathland and granite rock islands over a hundred species are native.
