Ebenfeld is a market in the Upper Franconian district of Lichtenfels in the north of Bavaria. The town sees itself as the gateway to the Upper Main.

Population of the entire municipal area: 5,867 (as of January 31, 2008 ).

The municipal area of Ebenfeld Kutzenberg also belongs to the District Hospital Obermain.

History

Religions

The majority of the population is Catholic (about 80 %). 10% are Protestant, and there are members of other denominations and religions and denominational inhabitants. On the territory of the municipality there are four parishes with eleven branches, a curacy and a branch church that does not belong to one of the parishes of the municipality. A total of 17 churches are available.

Although Birkach is in the area of the municipality, but part of pastoral care for Kuratie Medlitz. Meadows belongs to pastoral Döringstadt, politically to the town of Bad Season stone. Incorporations

Music

There are several brass bands, which offer an extensive repertoire from the traditional brass band to modern swing. In addition, there are several choirs and bands that extend the offer. The biggest music groups in the market town Ebenfeld are:

There is also a school band that promotes instrumental lessons in school.

Regular events

  • On Shrove Tuesday, a carnival parade takes place. More than 40 groups participate on foot or with a car on it. Organizer is the level fields Karnevalsgesellschaft (ECG).

Traffic

  • East of Ebenfeld runs the A 73 from Bamberg to Coburg. This road was raised in January 2008 from the former B 173 to the highway and extended in 2008 as far as Coburg, while the B 173 continues to lead from Lichtenfels to Kronach.
  • The market has a station on the railway line Bamberg -Hof, which runs from Bamberg on the railway junction Lichtenfels to court and lies on the German Unity Transport Project No. 8 on the under construction new Ebensfeld -Erfurt, which will be operational in 2017.

Established businesses

  • In the community level field there are three breweries: Schwanenbräu Ebenfeld, Brewery Light Horse in field and brewery Martin in Unterneuses. The latter two are among the smallest Franconian breweries.
  • Largest company in the place is the District Hospital Obermain with over 700 employees.

Education
