Ebersroda is a district of the municipality Gleina in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

The village lies between Mücheln in the Geisel and Freyburg ( Unstrut) at the Unstrut on the Querfurter plate approx 220 m above sea level.

History

The places Ebersroda, Schnellroda, Albersroda, Baumersroda, Branderoda, Schleberoda, Petersroda ( deserted ), Burghardsroda ( deserted village ) and Harterode ( deserted ) are clearing villages of the diocese of Bamberg. First documented in 1144, the town was mentioned as Eberhaczrode. By 1990 Ebersroda, as well as the other communities in this region was primarily characterized by agriculture. The last honorary mayor Hans -Heinrich Opolka was first elected on 12 June 1994. On 1 July 2009 Ebersroda was incorporated into Gleina.

Church

The village church is a hall church with west tower. The square tower with coupled round-arched openings sound was originally a choir tower of a Romanesque building.

Ebersroda connects a local road with the neighboring Baumersroda and a local road with the main road 163 About the L 163 you get to the B 176, which runs south of the municipal area and leads to Weissenfels and Sömmerda. With the federal highway 180 Ebersroda is connected via the county road 2642.
