Ebertshausen

Ebertshausen is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Katzenelenbogen.

History

Ebertshausen was first mentioned in 1150 under the name Ebrethishusen. Until 1479 the place was owned by the Counts of Katzenelnbogen. It then passed by inheritance to Hesse -Kassel. Since 1806, the village belonged to the Duchy of Nassau. 1825 was the basic rule in Ebertshausen by the then owner, the Hospital Gronau, sold and passed into private ownership. 1866 Nassau was annexed and with him Ebertshausen of Prussia. Since 1946 Ebertshausen is part of Rhineland- Palatinate. 1972 came in the wake of an administrative reform to form the municipality Katzenelenbogen who belongs to the local church Ebertshausen.

Parish council

The local council in Ebertshausen consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms takes over the Katzenelnbogen red and gold colors. It shows in the upper part three for Ebertshäuser Homesteads typical house forms. In the lower part ears find a sign of a farming community and a Wolf Angel as a typical house sign.
