Ebolowa is a city in southwestern Cameroon, with 60,360 inhabitants, according to an estimate from 2005. It is the capital of the province of Sud.

History

Ebolowa is located in the settlement area of ​​the Bulu, a relative of the Ewondo, the Beti- group corresponding ethnicity. The Boulou area was brought late 19th century successively under German sovereignty and after the so-called Bulu Uprising ( 1899/1900 ) finally pacified.
