EBSA European Under-21 Snooker Championships

The EBSA European Snooker Championship for Juniors is a snooker tournament, which is held by the European Billiards and Snooker Association ( EBSA ).

History

For the first time the tournament was held in 1997; since it takes place annually. By 2010 it was known as U19 tournament (ie, for players who are 19 or younger ) discharged. Since 2011 the rules were changed to U21 and thus adjusted to the mode of IBSF Under-21 World Championships and Under-21 ACBS Asian Championship.

Are eligible to participate beyond just players who do not play simultaneously on the Snooker Main Tour. Before there was a participant limit on the professional tour, only players were accordingly entitled to participate under a certain placement in the Snooker world rankings. The victory at the Junior World Championship is one of several ways to qualify for the main tour at the same time for some time.

Youngest ever winner of the Belgian Luca Brecel, who won at the age of 14 years in 2009.
