Ebsdorfergrund

Ebsdorfergrund is one of eleven villages municipality in the southeast of the district of Marburg -Biedenkopf in Hesse.

Geography

Geographical Location

The territory of the greater community Ebsdorfergrund extends over much of the eponymous Ebsdorfer ground, which represents the southern part of the basin Amöneburg and is used almost exclusively for agricultural purposes. In the east, the municipality becomes the Lumda Plateau ( Front Vogelsberg ), to the west in the Lahnberge.

The majority of the districts follows the course of Zwester ohms from Lumda Plateau to the northeast in the Ebsdorfer reason and finally thence south to the mouth of the Lahn between Marburg and Giessen:

Mountains

The highest point of the municipality is 393 m above sea level the suffering Höfer head ( south of the eponymous hamlet ). Further surveys of Lumda plateaus are Sennenberg ( 383 m, east of Dreihausen ) and Hatteberg ( 373 m, east of Rossberg ). The belonging to the Lahnbergen woman mountain on the eponymous district ( Mrs. Berg ) to the west is 370 m high.

History

Incorporations

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipalities Dreihausen and Heskem were merged to form the new municipality Ebsdorfergrund. On April 1, 1972 Rossberg, Wermertshausen and Wittelsberg were added. Beltershausen, Ebsdorf, Hachborn, Ilschhausen, Leidenhofen and Rauischholzhausen followed on 1 July 1974.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms shows in the golden ( yellow ) shield on green Dreienberg a red crenellated tower, topped with the Hessian shield.

The emblem of the medieval Wittelsberger ski jump is mapped; of which served the Landgrave of Hessen, to monitor the traffic on the road through the Ebsdorfer reason of Mainz between areas.

The community Ebsdorfergrund maintains partnership relations with

  • Bidford -on-Avon in Warwickshire, England since 1980 and
  • Liniewo in Poland since 1998.

Media

Traffic

Through the community's main road runs from 3048 Fronhausen (motorway junction in pouring over the B 3 ) to church grove. The main road leads Ebsdorf 3089 by the municipality and connects Marburg with green hill and rice churches; the state road 3125, which runs through Heskem and Dreihausen, Marburg connects with mosquito.

Facilities

In Roßberger forest is a national repository for radioactive waste which was established in the late 60s and modernized during the 90's. This is a so-called temporary storage site for radioactive waste from medicine, research, industry and commerce with a total volume of 400 m³.
