Ecgberht II of Northumbria
Ecgberht II (also Egbert, Ecgberct, Ecgbriht, Ecgbryht; † around 878 or 888) was in Anglo-Saxon Northumbria since 876 king.
Life
After Ricsige 876 had died took Ecgberht II rule over the northern part of the country, which should have corresponded approximately to Bernicia. There is no evidence that he was dependent in his rule of the Danes. The death Ecgberhts is usually recognized around the year 878 when Northumbria was incorporated into the Kingdom of Jorvik, but may Ecgberht prevailed in the north to 888
