Geographical Location

Eching lies in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut directly on the Isar and on the B 11 It is not to be confused with Eching on the A 9 in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising. To Landshut is just 7 km away, the A 92 ( Moosburg north ) 6 km, to Moosburg 10 km, to Freising and Erding both 25 km and Munich Airport in 30 km.

History

According to an official mention from the year 748 was the mother parish Eching a baptismal site on the River Isar. At this point, a wooden baptistery to have been built, which was later replaced by a Gothic parish church. The place name is based on the personal name Echo, which is derived by the Zugehörigkeistssuffix - ing.

The area, which was founded in 1204 Landshut belonged for centuries to the parish Eching. The original Gothic parish church fell in 1702 to a high Isar water to victims. From 1709 to 1711 the present Baroque church, which was affiliated to the grave chapel of the ducal family of Preysing Lichtenegg Moss in 1891 was born.

Eching belonged to Rentamt Landshut and Erding district court of the Electorate of Bavaria and was part of the Kingdom of Bavaria Patrimonialgerichtes and the control district Altfraunhofen.

Today's church was established on October 1, 1970, through the merger of the municipalities Berghofen, Eching, Haunwang, Kronwinkl and Viecht. Coat of arms

The guided since 1975 coat of arms is divided by red and silver. Front it shows a silver pewter wall with two battlements, behind a rooted green spruce.

The composition of the municipal coat of arms is reminiscent of the formation of the church today from Eching to 1970 independent municipalities Berghofen, Eching, Haunwang, Kronwinkl and Viecht. The wall with the two pinnacles in front of the field is derived from the family coat of arms of the Counts of Preysing, who had their headquarters in Kronwinkl.
