Echolette

Echolette was in the 1950s and 1960s, one of the most famous European manufacturers of vocal and instrument amplifiers and effects units.

History KLEMT / Echolette

Mid-1950s, the production of a four-channel mixer amplifier for instruments and vocals was started at the suggestion of the orchestral musician Hans Bauer at the company Klemt. The company was founded by Arthur Klemt in the 1930s in Olching near Munich and was originally operated under the name "Radio Klemt ". Sales, repair and maintenance of radio and later television sets allowed a nationwide growth with branches in Bremen and Hamburg.

The conditions, initially in small numbers were manufactured at Klemt hand. Echolette was from 1959, the trademark for all amplifiers and effects units out of this house. All trademark rights to the name Echolette were at Hans Bauer, who sold the Klemt products very successfully through his own company " Echolette sales " based in Munich. Quickly, the model range has also expanded through the tape echo and reverb units of the NG series, speakers, bass amp, Instrumental boxes and microphones.

The microphones were manufactured by the company AKG Acoustics and Sennheiser and provided by Bauer with the brand name Echolette. The speakers were not made by Echolette, but by the Berlin firm Isophon.

History Dynacord / Echolette

1969 Echolette was bought by the company Dynacord at which farmers turn acquired shares. Since then, the signature Klemt has disappeared from the Echolette logo. Produced in the 1970s equipment was initially also identical in construction under the name Dynacord on the market, up from about 1981 all the devices produced were produced only under the brand name Dynacord.

Farmer sold his shares in 1981 Dynacord. The rights to the brand Echolette remained with Dynacord, which belongs together with its previous owner Telex Communications to Robert Bosch GmbH since 2006. The brand name Echolette is no longer used.
