Eckartsberga

Eckartsberga is a small town in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ). It belongs to the municipality on at the Finn.

Geography

The city is located on the Eckartsberga Finn, a ridge on the border of Saxony- Anhalt / Thuringia. Located in the natural park Saale Unstrut Triasland, the city about 22 kilometers from Naumburg ( Saale) and the nearly 30 km from Jena and Weimar is removed.

The neighboring municipalities (clockwise ) are: At the Post Road, Lanitz - Hassel- valley in Saxony- Anhalt and Thuringia Bad Sulza.

History

The story Eckart Berga is inextricably linked with the creation and construction of the Eckartsburg 966 by Margrave Ekkehard I of Meissen.
