Eckelshausen is a district of central Hesse Biedenkopf. It lies in the Lahn valley between Biedenkopf ( north ) and the village of Kombach at the intersection of highways 62 and 453

As an international chamber music festival with a different theme every year in and around the city instead of the Eckelshausen Music Days.

History

On December 31, 1971, until then independent municipality was incorporated into Biedenkopf.

Blazon: In black three gold damascene diamonds or corners (1:2)

Pictured are three stones that are heraldic referred to as corners, hence the name Eckelshausen. The creeper ( Damaszierung called ) of the three golden stones in the habit of heraldic art to revive larger areas of single color. The coat of arms was approved on 28 January 1957.

The Protestant parish church is created fortified, has a Romanesque nave and chancel tower with high tent roof; are also worth seeing the Gothic tracery windows. The three-sided gallery of 1775 was changed in 1954. From 1454 to 1465 John Bonemilch was in town pastor who as Auxiliary Bishop of Erfurt Martin Luther gave the 1507 ordination.

The Schartenhof in Eckelshausen was restored in 1970. It is home to the Stuwe in Schartenhof (gallery, arts and crafts, dolls studio ) and is the birthplace of Eckelshausen Music Days.
