When the smallest village has emerged in today's community association, can not be accurately determined. The assumption goes back to the year 900, where it should have been re-created on the remains of Roman systems. 1156 is one of the place to the forest villages in the Count's estate, and in 1190 it says in the Bolandenschen fief directory that " Ogelrode " a branch of the parish Leiberheim ( Waldlaubersheim ) was and was there to pay the tithe, which in turn belonged to Count Werner von Bolanden as fief of the Count Lon. Half of this patronage law and parts of the tithes of the fields and vineyards transferred Werner von Bolanden 1282 the Knights of Emil Rich Schonenburg fief. Later, the place was kurpfälzisch until the French Revolution, repeatedly changed its spelling. Thus we read in the current Berger interest book the spelling " Ockenrait " and " Oeckenrod ".

Policy

Parish council

The local council in corner Roth is composed of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms shows a black background a golden double hook and a golden Rodhacke obliquely crossed. The double hook, also called Wolf Angel, is an ancient stain mark. In heraldry it is also the symbol for forest management. The hoe could be called Rodhacke and thus constitute an allusion to the place name, but also explain the connection to viticulture. The Palatine color " Black " and " Gold" indicate that the local community long time belonged to Electoral Palatinate. As in corner Roth both forest management as viticulture was operated, the Council for the double hook and Rodhacke had decided in sign.
