Eckhard Leue

Eckhard Leue ( born March 20, 1958 in Magdeburg ) is a former German canoeist canoe and current coach. He was winner of the bronze medal at the Olympic Summer Games 1980.

Life

Leue devoted himself already as a teenager in the BSG Motor Magdeburg Southeast canoe racing. He was delegated to the SC Magdeburg and drove many victories in the one - Canadians. His passion for the sport was given to him by his equally successful paddling parents Sigrid and Rolf Leue in the cradle. In 1980 he won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Moscow.

Since 2000 he has canoe coach at Sport Club Magdeburg. His protégés, including his belonging to the German national squad children Friederike Leue and Erik Leue, drove more than two dozen German championship title. International, they won European Junior Championships, World Cup and U23 titles and medals. He also works as a federal Honorary coach of the U23 selection.
