Eckhard Supp

Eckhard Supp ( born August 23, 1950 in Bad Ems ) is a German journalist, wine critic and publicist.

Life

After graduating from Carl Schurz High School in Frankfurt am Main Supp studied from 1969 to 1975 at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe- University education first, later politics, history, philosophy and sociology. In 1985, he earned his Ph.D. in sociology with a thesis on Australia's Aborigines.

1975/76 Supp was instrumental in the compilation of the register tape of Hegel Complete Edition ( Suhrkamp Verlag, Frankfurt). From 1977 to 1984 he lived and worked as a freelance journalist and photographer based in Paris, where he stood by the photo agency Rapho under contract. Long reportage missions of up to six months led him to many European countries as well as in Angola, South Africa, Namibia, Australia, Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion Island, USA and Chile. His photographs have been shown in exhibitions in Paris, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Naples, Rome and the United States (Indiana University).

Since 1986 Supp writes mainly on topics in the areas of travel, food and drinks. Was founded in 1992 ENO Verlag ( Offenbach am Main ), he gave out since 1995 about 20 books on the subject of wine. From 2003 to 2007 Supp was editorial director and lead author of the Brockhaus -themed books "wine" and " cooking. " In 2005 he spent six months chief editor of the journals " eat & drink " and " beautiful food " Gruner in publishing years.
