ECODES
ECODES (formerly Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo [ German Foundation Ecology and Development] ) is a Spanish non-profit organization.
The Foundation seeks to bring about social change and to promote sustainable development by ensuring dialogue and cooperation between all relevant actors is made possible. They provide ideas, concepts and criticism based on professional expertise. The focus of the Foundation is on social responsibility, climate change, water management, use restrictions and development cooperation.
In addition to its numerous projects they publish the online magazine esPosible.
The organization's work has been honored with numerous awards.
History
The organization was founded on 10 March 1992 in Zaragoza with the intention to become an influential player in the field of sustainable development and environmental protection. In order to bring about social change, the Foundation is working on local ideas and concepts for international problems.

The Foundation strives for social and environmentally sustainable change.
Structure
The Supervisory Committee of the Foundation consists of six members. All members of the Supervisory Committee are unpaid, with the exception of the Director General, and shall not have economic interests with the Foundation link. The Supervisory Committee meets three times a month. The advisory committee is working on the SC, while the general manager is responsible for the daily work and the following separate areas: demonstration projects, technical assistance, analysis and solutions as well as external representation. In addition to these areas there are the following Working Groups: Climate Change, Corporate Social Responsibility, Water, responsible consumption and Latin America.
Fields of work
The Foundation examines the causes and consequences of today's socio - environmental challenges, to then develop and implement solutions. In cases mounted demonstration projects are carried out to prove the feasibility. They also give out technical support and advice in the transformation to a sustainable and environmentally friendly production.

- Water: Water Management / advertising against water wastage
- Corporate social responsibility
- Corruption: Campaign against corruption
- Climate change: information / campaigns
- Consumer behavior: Campaigns against waste of all kinds
- Pollution: Campaigns and projects against various forms of pollution (water, air, etc.)
- Energy: campaigns for energy saving
- Waste: Projects and campaigns on waste and the reduction of various forms of waste
Famous campaigns
The foundation gained national recognition through their campaign " Zaragoza, water -saving city". They began in 1997 with the aim to promote a new understanding of the use of water and to improve water management. The importance of small technological aids in the reduction of water consumption in the city of Zaragoza was emphasized. The challenge should face Zaragoza, was the reduction in water consumption of 1,000 million liters in a year. By the efficiency of consumption was increased, one could quickly and effectively help to alleviate the water shortage. This campaign required partnerships with local and national governments as well as with the European Union.
Partnerships and collaborations
ECODES has numerous partnerships and is a member of various networks and coalitions such as the " Coalition Clima" and the " Alianza por el Aqua". Ecology and development is also a member of the Spanish Foundation Association (La Asociación Española de Fundaciones ).
