Ecography

Ecography is an English-language journal of Biogeography and Macroecology.

History

The magazine is published since 1978. The first 14 copies were renamed as yet under the title Holarctic Ecology. The new title is a contraction of the words Ecology and Geography. The journal is published by John Wiley & Sons. The editors Carsten Rahbek; deputy editor Miguel Araújo (2011 ).

2012 was the impact factor of the journal 5.124. It was thus in the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge on place 16 of 136 considered periodicals in Ecology and # 3 of 40 journals in the category of protecting biodiversity.

Content

It will be published contributions in the field of macro- ecology, conservation biology and biogeography, and population ecology.

The journal published alongside the classic "Original research papers ," "Forum papers", ie short articles that highlight new perspectives and to initiate discussions in ecological research. In addition to " Review & Synthesis papers" published statements on publications and " Software Notes " with software descriptions.
