ECryptfs

The eCryptfs (Enterprise Cryptographic File System; German company cryptographic file system ) is a POSIX -compliant file-based disk encryption software for Linux at the kernel level. It is part of the Linux kernel since version 2.6.19. It works similar to the Encrypting File System from Microsoft and Apple FileVault.
