Ecuadorian centavo coins

Although since 9 September 2000, the U.S. dollar is the national currency, there are special coins of Ecuador. The coins are parallel to the penny, used as a unit of the U.S. dollar. According to the American designation cent coins are as Centavo ( Pl: centavos ) refers. The official name for these coins is centavo del Sucre, being specified that 100 centavos correspond to a U.S. dollar. The coins, therefore, not only in size and weight of the U.S. cents, but also in value.
