Ed Macauley

Charles Edward Macauley Jr. ( born March 22, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, † November 8, 2011 ), called " Easy Ed " was an American basketball player.

Life and career

Between 1949 and 1959, born in St. Louis in 1928 Charles Edward Macauley Jr. played in the U.S. professional league NBA with the St. Louis Bombers, Boston Celtics and St. Louis Hawks. 1956 exchanged him the Celtics for the rights to Bill Russell. With the Hawks in 1958, he won the first and only championship team history. He was nominated seven times for the All -Star Game. Just one year after the end of his career, 1960, Macauley was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He was dean of the Catholic Church in 1989.
