Ed Rimkus

Edward William Rimkus ( born August 10, 1913 in Schenectady, New York, † 17 May 1999 Long Beach, California ) was an American bobsledder.

Rimkus studied physics at St. Lawrence University in Canton ( New York). There he was a member of the football and track and field team. In 1938 he received his degree and worked as an engineer for General Electric. The Bobsleigh practiced Rimkus of only two years. He belonged to the team of Francis Tyler and qualified second in the AAU Championships in 1947 for the Winter Olympics the following year. In St. Moritz, he won the gold medal in four-man bobsleigh.
