Eddi Reader

Eddi Reader ( born August 28, 1959 in Glasgow as Sadenia Reader) is a Scottish singer, known for her work with Fairground Attraction and her solo career.

Reader was born in Glasgow, the daughter of a welder, and the eldest of seven children. She began to play with 10 guitar. Early in her career she sang backing vocals for the Gang of Four. In 1983 she moved to London and worked for the Eurythmics, The Waterboys and Alison Moyet. In 1984 she met Mark Nevin and shortly thereafter Fairground Attraction was founded. Despite notable successes, the band broke up again in 1989.

After a maternity leave Eddi Reader released her first solo album in 1992. For their second album, with which it came into the UK album charts at # 4, she was awarded at the 1995 Brit Awards ceremony as the best British singer. In 2003, she recorded an album with lyrics of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.

2006 Eddi Reader MBE was awarded the title. In early 2010 appeared Eddi Reader on the Irish -language album Ceol '10 Suil Siar, where she sang the Irish version of her song Perfect, which is called on the Irish Album Foirfe.
