Eddie Eagan

Edward Patrick Francis " Eddie" Eagan ( born April 26, 1897 in Denver, † June 14, 1967 in Rye, New York) was an American athlete.

He was in the winter of 1932 itself to legend, when he, as Gillis Grafström, both in winter and in the Summer Games won a gold medal. These two exceptional athletes are to date the only athletes who have achieved this feat, with Grafström won both gold medals in figure skating, while Eagan won his medals in two different sports.

1920 brought Eagan in Antwerp precious metal heavyweight boxing and won twelve years later in the team of William Fiske gold in four-man bobsleigh.

With Boxgold 1920 and Bobgold 1932 Edward Eagan also one of only five athletes who could win a medal in both winter and summer Olympic Games, the others are next to Gillis Grafström yet Jacob Tullin Thams, Christa Luding - Rothenburg and Clara Hughes.
