Eddie Hazel
Eddie " Smeero " Hazel ( born April 10, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York City; † December 23, 1992 in Plainfield, New Jersey) was an American guitarist.
Life and work
Hazel occupied himself early on playing the guitar and singing. His first guitar was a Christmas gift from his older brother. In 1967 he was recruited by George Clinton and his band Parliament finally got a supporting role in the follow - band Funkadelic. His sounding Jimi Hendrix reminiscent, but intrinsically guitar solos were finally ( impressive to hear in " Maggot Brain" ) the trademark of the band.
Also under the aegis of George Clinton, he got the chance to work on solo works. Throughout his life, however, only a good 30 minutes' work called "Game, Dames And Guitar Thangs " was released. Eddie Hazel, who has struggled throughout his career with severe drug problems repeatedly died, 42 -year-old from internal bleeding and liver failure. After his death, two other CDs were released with recordings from various sessions.
