Eddie Macken

Eddie Macken ( born October 20, 1949 in Granard, County Longford ) is an Irish show jumper, who was one in particular in the second half of the 1970s the world's most successful show jumpers. He lives in Vancouver, Canada.

Together with Paul Darragh, Con Power, and James Kernan won Macken 1979, the fifth Aga Khan Trophy. He also won this year for the fourth time in a row, British Show Jumping Championships in Hickstead and the bronze medal with the Irish team at the European Championships. He participated in the Olympic Games in 1992 and 1996, in part as an athlete and 2004 as coach of the Irish show jumping team.

Macken starts mainly in the United States of America and in Canada at equestrian events. In 2008 he took part in Nations Cups ( Hickstead and Dublin) as part of the Irish team.
