Eddie Vedder

Eddie Vedder ( born December 23, 1964 in Evanston, Illinois as Edward Louis Seversen III) is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist of Danish descent. He is the frontman for the grunge band Pearl Jam.

Career

From 1988 to 1990, singer Eddie Vedder in the Southern California grunge band Bad Radio.

In 1990, Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar) and Jeff Ament ( bass) did to set up together with the aim of a new band after the two musicians had decided to continue making music after the death of Andy Wood. Jack Irons (former drummer of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers ) played the recordings, which were known as Stone Gossard demos to his friend Vedder. Vedder, who had left at this point the band Bad Radio, recorded vocals for three of the previously unfinished songs. So the so-called Mamasan tape with which he was accepted into the band was from the Pearl Jam was born. Sometimes he uses the pseudonym " Wes C. Addle " or " Jerome Turner".

Vedder wrote the 2007 soundtrack for Sean Penn film Into the Wild. In April 2008, he was also the first time as a solo artist with the songs from the soundtrack to a short tour along the west coast of the United States. In May 2011, his second solo album Ukulele Songs, singing and Ukulelenspiel stand on the Vedder appeared in the center; in two duets worked with the fellow musicians Glen Hansard and Cat Power.

Family and private life

Vedder had a difficult childhood in Evanston, near Chicago, Illinois. After his parents separated in 1965, when Eddie was only one year old, his mother married Peter Mueller. It took years until Eddie found out that Peter Mueller is not his biological father. The mid-1970s, the family moved ( with Eddie's three younger half-brothers ) to San Diego County, California. During this time he received a guitar for his 12th birthday. This was also the time in which Eddie discovered the music for themselves. At 15, Eddie had lived alone and took the surname of his mother again, Vedder 's maiden name, to after his mother was divorced for the second time. At this time he also learned the truth about his biological father, a man he indeed already knew, but did not know that it was his father with him. Eddie moved back to Chicago, where his mother lived already. Eddie Vedder pushes the shock of his song " Alive".

In 1984 he returned, along with his then-girlfriend (now ex-wife ) Beth darling, back to San Diego. He took various jobs, including as a petrol pump attendant.

Vedder loves surfing and is not only a fan of The Who and the Ramones, but cherishes and entertained close friendships with the Who guitarist Pete Townshend and the late Johnny Ramone. Vedder spoke the eulogy for receiving the Ramones into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame, adorned by a freshly added laid mohawk. This he was going to wear until the U.S. stop bombing other countries, but not by what he did. He is also President of the Ramones fan.

Since the 18th September 2010 he is married to model Jill McCormick photo, with whom he has two daughters (* 2004 and * 2008).

Social Commitment

  • Appearance at the benefit concert "Change Begins Within" the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness - Based Education and World Peace on 4 April 2009 at Radio City Music Hall, New York City, including with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Donovan, Ben Harper and Sheryl Crow. With the concert revenue, the Foundation wants to give underprivileged children the opportunity to learn Transcendental Meditation.
