Eddy Curry

Eddy Curry Jr. ( born December 5, 1982 in Harvey, Illinois ) is an American professional basketball player who was in the course of his career, among other things for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Miami Heat under contract.

Career

Since 2001, Curry plays in the U.S. professional league NBA, beginning with the Chicago Bulls, since 2005, he was with the New York Knicks under contract in December 2011, he has, however, signed with the Miami Heat. Curry is 2.13 meters tall and plays as center. He was compared to early in his career with superstar Shaquille O'Neal, but could these expectations are rarely fair. Throughout his career, he had to contend with many injuries and even minor heart problems, which threw him back again and again. His only playoff participation, he recognized in the NBA season 2004/ 05 with the Chicago Bulls. The following summer, Curry was traded along with Antonio Davis for the starting players Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney from the Bulls to the Knicks. In the NBA season 06/ 07 he had his strongest year when he was able to achieve 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. In the following years, he could not go on these statistics due to injuries.

During the NBA season 2010/11 he was traded to Minnesota and released after a few days.

In December 2011, Curry signed a contract with the Miami Heat. For his comeback Curry took up to 30 kg from weight. With the Heat Curry won the championship in 2012.

For the NBA season 2012/2013 Curry received a new contract with the Heat and played during the pre-season 2012/13 for the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs, however, he received no definitive agreement in October for the season and left the team again. Shortly thereafter, he was hired by the Dallas Mavericks, but lost due to the Nachverpflichtung of Troy Murphy after only two games back his place in the Mavericks squad.
