Eddy Scharf
Eduard " Eddy / Ed" Sharp ( born November 7, 1953 in Cologne ) is a German poker player.
Sharp has worked as a pilot for Lufthansa since 1980, and decided in 1995 as a hobby poker player to become active. The Pot Limit Omaha specialist, won in 2001 and 2003 a bracelet at the World Series of Poker. His biggest success at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker was the 15th place in 2004. To date, he won $ 1,327,199 in official poker events.
Besides his work as a poker player Eddy Scharf is also active as an expert in Sport 1. In February 2007, the DSF Poker School was released on DVD.
2012 Sharp made headlines because he is suing the tax office Köln-Mitte. The financial officials want tax payments from him. Sharp argued that poker is gambling and casino game and therefore is not subject to taxation.
