Edemissen located in the southern outskirts of the Lüneburg Heath.

History

  • The first documentary mention of the village Edemissen from 1295. In old documents there is often a confusion with Edemissen ( Einbeck ). Thus, a document from the year 1253 is erroneously associated with our Edemissen still again and again.
  • In 1532 the formation of the Office Meinersen with the Gografschaft Edemissen and the associated villages Edemissen, Abbensen, Ahlemissen, Alvesse, Blumenhagen, Dedenhausen Eddesse, Eickenrode, Eixe, Eltze, Horst, Mödesse, Ohof, Plockhorst, Rietze, Stederdorf done, Voigt wood, Wehnsen, Wendesse, Wipshausen, Ankensen, Tadensen and ( Sundern ).
  • After the dissolution of the Office Meinersen to March 31, 1885 Edemissen is incorporated into the newly formed district of Peine

Incorporations

  • In 1965 the merger of the previously independent places Edemissen, Alvesse, Blumenhagen, Mödesse, Voigt wood Ahlemissen and since 1971 also Oedesse to Samtgemeinde Edemissen done.

Religion

  • To the parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Martin Luther church Edemissen now includes the villages of Alvesse, Blumenhagen ( with small flowers Hagen), Edemissen ( with Ankensen, Berkhöpen and Oelheim ) Mödesse, Oedesse ( with small Oedesse ) Plockhorst, Voigt wood Ahlemissen and Wehnsen. Coat of arms

In the coat of arms of the district Edemissen growing from a blue black ground lime in the golden field, beseitet of two red eight-pointed stars in the middle blue rings. The eight rays meet as many old roads to the neighboring villages, where Edemissen was administrative, judicial and ecclesiastical center.
