The Eden Park is the largest stadium in the New Zealand city of Auckland. In winter, Rugby Union is played in the summer of cricket. The stadium with 60,000 seats located three kilometers southwest of the city center on the border of the suburbs Kingsland and Mount Eden. Main users are the rugby teams Auckland Rugby Football Union ( ITM Cup ) and blues ( in the Super Rugby).

The area around the Eden Park has been used for sporting purposes since about 1900. Since 1910, here cricket is played, especially Test cricket and one- day cricket. Since 1925, the Auckland Rugby Football Union is located here. The final of the Rugby Union World Cup in 1987 was held at Eden Park. With regard to the World Cup 2011, the capacity was increased to 60,000 spectators. At this event, several preliminary matches and the match for third place and the final took place at Eden Park.
