Edgar Hanfstaengl

Edgar Hanfstaengl ( born July 15, 1842 in Munich, † May 28, 1910 in Munich) was an authorized signatory and merchant.

Edgar Hanfstaengl was the son of the photographer Franz Hanfstaengl (1804-1877) and his wife Franziska Hanfstaengl Wegmeier (1809-1860) was born in Munich. Edgar trained as a trading merchant in Szczecin and in a London wholesale. Early sixties, Edgar went to Asia to work as a clerk at Teehandelsunternehmen Clark. They had five children: Edgar (1883-1958), Egon (1884-1915), Erna (1885-1981), Ernst " Putzi " (1887-1975) and Erwin ( 1888-1914 ). The eldest son Edgar led since 1907, the art world of his father.
