Edgar Snow
Edgar Snow ( born July 17, 1905 in Kansas City, Missouri, † February 15, 1972 ) was an American journalist who in 1937 in his book Red Star Over China ( 1970 German Red under the title Star over China) from the base of the CCP reported in Yan'an and his encounters with Mao Zedong. The book was translated into many languages and contributed significantly to making Mao internationally popular and bring about a change of mood zugunstens Mao in the Western world.
