Edgar Ziesemer

Edgar S. Ziesemer ( born July 18, 1895 in Berlin, † October 21, 1971 ) was a German cinematographer.

Life

Edgar Ziesemer had received his photographic training at the Technical College. In 1916 he joined Deutsche Bioscop and began working as a cameraman. Between 1918 and 1920 Ziesemer worked as a simple camera man for the film May. From 1921 to 1924 he had his own production company. 1925 returned Ziesemer back behind the camera.

As director of photography, first continue under the patronage of more experienced cameramen, Ziesemer now regularly worked for the movie. Until 1938 he photographed a number of less important films, mostly for smaller private companies, rare for large companies such as the UFA. 1939-1941 he photographed several fairy tale films for the production company Hubert Schongers, from 1940 Ziesemer focused on the work at the industrial and documentary. Even after the Second World War, its main field of activity was still in the documentary, and later in the TV movie.
