Edge connector

A platinum plug (also called " edge connector " English "edge connector" ) is a plug which is formed by an edge portion of a printed circuit board. To this end, interconnects are so out to the edge of the circuit board that plug contacts arise that fit into an appropriate socket. An edge connector is a cost effective solution since for this connector only one socket is required and the cost of the plug can be saved. Known examples of the use of platinum plugs are ISA and PCI plug-in.
