Edington (Wiltshire)

Edington is a small village in Wiltshire, and is located about five miles east of Westbury ( Wiltshire), not far from Trowbridge, the main town of the district.

Edington has a much place in English history, as Alfred the Great in the year 878 the Danes struck here sensitive and thus laid the foundation of English history.

It is reported that in memory of this important battle near the Westbury White Horse was built.

In the village there is a city park, a restaurant and a church, the Edington Priory ( The place was a priory of Augustinian, the Edington Priory ). The children must attend primary school in the neighboring village of Bratton, secondary schools are in Market Lavington and Matravers ( Westbury )
