Éditions Larousse

The Éditions Larousse are a French publishing house in Paris, which publishes mainly dictionaries, encyclopedias, specialized encyclopedias, textbooks and school books.

History

The publisher goes back to 1852 by Pierre Larousse and Augustin Boyer founded " Librairie Larousse et Boyer ". The publisher was independent until 1983, when it was first bought by " CEP Communication ," in 1998 by the French media group Vivendi, and finally in 2004 by Hachette Livre (part of Groupe Lagardère ).

Symbol of the publisher

The symbol of the original publisher is a young woman who blows away the seeds of a dandelion flower of a dandelion ( " La semeuse " on German " the Sower "). Until 1993, it was accompanied by the slogan "The sème à tout vent" ( " I sow from the four winds ").
