Edmund Andros

Edmund Andros (* December 6, 1637 in London, † February 24, 1714 ) was an early British colonial governor. His father was Amice Andros, Prince of Saumarez.

Andros served as British colonial Governor of New York (1674-1681), New England (1686-1689), Virginia (1692-1697), Maryland (1693-1694) and Guernsey (1704-1706) and was the founder of the Covenant Chain, an alliance the English colonies of North America and the Iroquois League.
