Edmund Clerihew Bentley

EC Bentley (actually Clerihew Edmund Bentley, * July 10, 1875 in London, † March 30, 1956 ) was a British writer.

Life

At Edmund Clerihew Bentley will be remembered as the inventor of Clerihew, a humorous poetry, a short biographical quatrain with quirky character over celebrity. He worked as a journalist for several newspapers, including the Daily Telegraph. Was estimated except the Clerihews his detective novels, the most famous is Trent 's Last Case (1913). Among his admirers was Dorothy L. Sayers. Some of his works experienced in recent times reissues.
