Edogawa Rampo Award

The Edogawa Rampo Prize (Japanese江 戸 川 乱 歩 赏, Edogawa Rampo Shō ) since 1955 every year in honor of the crime writer Edogawa Rampo and the promotion of crime fiction from the " Association of Japanese crime writers " (日本 推理 作家协会, English. Japanese Mystery Authors' Association) awarded. On October 30, 1954 Edogawa Rampo donated to the "Association of the authors of detective novels " on the occasion of his 60th birthday one million yen for the promotion of crime fiction.

The winners will receive a cash prize in the amount of ten million yen. The award is sponsored by the publisher Kodansha, which also published the excellent title, and Fuji Television. The first two awards were not awarded for works of crime fiction, but for outstanding services to crime literature.
